In recognition of Mental Health Awareness Week in May, we hosted 'Let's Talk: Conversations that Matter' events at three of Wiley UK's locations. Led by the local leadership team and supported by HR, we invited all colleagues to take part in a discussion where they could share their personal reflections on wellbeing at Wiley. 

I'm the Communications and Engagement lead at Marshalls. In fact, I'm the first focussed IC person Marshalls have ever had. The company recognised the need to invest in people, and I get the pleasure of helping them do just that. I'm very excited about the future possibilities at Marshalls. It's all to play for.

As part of our #IChoseIC series, Internal Communications Business Partner, Gallagher, Hannah Harriman shares a day in the life, juggling projects and collaborating with the HR team and Senior Leadership.

I think it's easy to say that over the last few months my 'typical' day has changed dramatically. I no longer roll out of bed, throw my make up in my bag, and hurry to the station as I have snoozed my alarm one to many times. I no longer visit the deli next to our office for my 10.30am coffee fix or walk along Portobello Road on my lunch break. I no longer work from our West London offices, but instead from my dining table or a desk in my room (depends on how adventurous I am feeling).

I currently spend four days per week working from home in Brighton, where I live alone. For the other day of the week (the day varies), I commute into London Victoria.

It feels quite challenging to describe a typical day at the moment, as my working arrangements have changed so much over the last year. I'm not entirely sure what "typical" looks like!

No day is the same in Internal Comms, and I thrive on this! Some days I find myself working on business strategy communications, creating new content for our internal business magazine or gathering content for our web-based channels.
