The IoIC ethics Charter for the ethical use of AI has been created to sustain professional standards in internal communication as AI adoption goes mainstream.
This vital Charter has been created to sustain standards and trust in internal communication in the age of AI.
As media hype cycles accelerate, understanding the ethical and moral implications of new AI technologies has never been more important. It is essential if we are to fully leverage their potential and mitigate unintended consequences.
The Charter has been created by a taskforce of our most experienced members. Its goal is to promote ethical AI adoption. We have sought to create a framework that assists internal communication professionals in their work moving forward, so they are better equipped to help their organisations with the crucial tasks of governance and responsible, human-focused AI stewardship.
It has been created as a living document and will be regularly reviewed and updated to make sure it remains relevant as AI innovation progresses. All members of the IoIC are invited to submit their thoughts and views on the Charter in our dedicated online community here. We will feed this into our regular reviews to make sure the Charter stays updated and relevant to your needs.
The IoIC is committed to helping members successfully navigate the emergent field of AI and will launch further resources to assist its community as we progress into 2025 and beyond.
We invite you to download your copy and contemplate what opportunity this presents within your organisation.

To accompany the launch of the new AI Ethics Charter for Internal Communication, we embarked on a live briefing with some of the taskforce members who helped write and refine the Charter.
As a valued member of the IoIC, we want to hear your views on the new AI ethics Charter. Launched as a living document, we will regularly review and update the Charter to reflect the lived reality of IC professionals in this rapidly changing environment. Log onto the community below to let us know what you think of the Charter. What's missing? How does it reflect your lived experience of working with AI? How will you use it to accelerate ethical adoption of AI in your organisation?
As we embark on this journey to integrate AI into our profession, it's important to share knowledge and experiences to optimally help one another. This dedicated community space for IoIC members is an opportunity for you to compare stories of how you're using and/or experimenting with AI. What experiences have you had with AI platforms and technologies? What has worked well? What hasn't gone so well? What lessons have you learnt? What use cases can you share?
Harness the power of AI as a strategic tool for internal communication and drive your organisation's change programme around AI adoption.
