The MA Internal Communication Management Open Afternoon took place online on 18 June 2024. You can watch the session on-demand here.
The Open Afternoon provided an overview of the course programme, structure and teaching team - including key topics, concepts and theories covered; the workshops and the online experience for those attending virtually; module leaders and guest speakers; and keeping the course content up-to-date.
The Course Team also answered questions on the application process - including entry requirements and the level at which practitioners should to be working before starting the course, and whether candidates need a degree before applying (they don't) - as well as how suitable the course was for those in various organisations.
We were joined by alumni who talked about the practicalities of studying and how they balanced it alongside working and personal lives. They also discussed what they had gained from the course, building their learning network and the support they experienced from the course team.
The session also looked at the final management report which students on the Masters undertake, with alumni providing a quick summary of their work and how useful that has proved in practice, and the course team explaining about the value this piece of work offers to students and organisations.
Further discussion included gaining support and funding, library access and resources, and top tips for success on the course.
