Corporate Membership
Could you describe your current role in internal communication and how you think our membership might support you in this role?
I’m currently a Comms and Engagement Business Partner within GTR. The role involves advising and guiding senior leaders on all things comms and engagement as well as brokering in specialist comms support from our team. The IoIC membership supports me by providing a platform for support and advice with people working in the same field who use different methods within their roles. The training courses help me to brush up on forgotten techniques or learn about new techniques or technology impacting the internal comms space – there’s always more to learn!
Could you describe your current role in internal communication and how you think our membership might support you in this role?
I’ve worked in internal communications for nine years, and before that I specialised in social media and channel management for five years. My role spans several different digital channels, so keeping up to date with the latest trends and knowledge from the world of internal communications is vital. I find the IoIC magazine really helps with this and provides great perspectives from different job industries too.
What advice would you give to someone considering becoming a member?
The courses IoIC provides are really useful – I have recently completed a writing course with the IoIC and it helped me rethink about how I communicate with the business.
What’s your favourite part of being a member of IoIC?
I’ve worked in Internal Comms for 12 years now and it’s a good way to keep up with trends in our world. It’s good to share experiences with peers to find out how they’re approaching the same issues I might be having, and lend expertise from elsewhere.

Go for it. It’s reasonably priced, offers, efficient and relevant training, and it’s a great way to keep up with industry trends.

Could you describe your current role in internal communication and how you think our membership might support you in this role?
I’m currently part of the campaigns wing of our internal comms team, and as someone relatively early on in their career, it’s brilliant to be able to have the IoIC as a resource and use the training courses to cement my knowledge in the subject.
What advice would you give to someone considering becoming a member?
Definitely would recommend! Lots of great courses to go on and great to spend time with other internal comms professionals and discuss current issues we might be facing.
