9.30

I arrive at the office with my chocolate croissant and Mocha in hand (daily ritual!). Alongside one of my colleagues, we check over the team's internal communications mailbox in case any requests for urgent support have come in from one of our 30 offices globally overnight. If so, we direct the query to an appropriate team member.

9.45

I look over my individual mailbox and respond to a couple of emails from different teams requesting responses on various internal communications queries. I may also post a few articles on our intranet that I have scheduled to upload today.

10.00

Meeting with the COO of Re:link, our new contract lawyer platform. He would like to present some statistics on our first quarter on an animated PowerPoint slide that can be used on our internal digital screens. He provides an overview of his creative vision and we discuss a reasonable deadline.

10.30

I'm back at my desk and I spend the next hour compiling engagement statistics on our content from the previous month. Using a specialist internal communications newsletter software, it's always really interesting to see the engagement demographic breakdown across our global business.

11.30

Today I'm filming an internal piece with our Senior Partner (Chairman equivalent). He's interviewing a senior colleague in one of our business teams who's flown in from Hong Kong. She's sharing her Career Story and journey to Linklaters on camera. I arrive 15 minutes early to ensure everything is set up with the in-house Film and Media Team.

12.30

I find taking time out for lunch is really important for health and wellbeing. This may involve heading downstairs to our restaurant "Silks". Catering for our colleagues globally who might have flown in, there is always a wide variety of options to choose from. Some people say that "Silks" is one of the busiest restaurants in London over the lunch period. They even have their own Instagram account! Sometimes I also head across the road to the Barbican. Sitting amongst the brutalist architecture, I find it a good opportunity in the day to reflect.

1.30

After lunch, I may have a couple of meetings to discuss how colleagues can communicate a new campaign or idea to the business. Alongside one of my colleagues in the team, we explain the different channels available for the initiative and devise a communications plan with our stakeholder.

2.30

I spend some time at my desk writing up a couple of interviews I conducted in the previous week. I then send these to my manager to gain some valuable feedback before sharing them with the colleagues I interviewed for sign-off.

3.30

Our office wide UK newsletter that is distributed to 3,000 colleagues across our London and Colchester sites is due to be sent out tomorrow. I schedule in a couple of hours to start adding in the content so it can be sent early the following day.

5.30

It's time to leave the office for the day. Before heading off, I always ensure that I check over my calendar and make a note of any tasks that I need to do first thing in the morning.

It's then headphones in and a gentle walk back to Angel where I live as I wind down for the day.
