Power and ethics in leadership communication are two core elements that have the ability to shape organisational culture, trust and employee engagement. But what happens when power overshadows ethical responsibility?
This interactive session invites you to explore the hidden dynamics at play in leadership messaging and how they shape the way employees experience and engage with their workplace. Through a blend of academic research, real-world cases and fictional scenarios, we will uncover the subtle ways leadership messaging can either foster trust or create distance... sometimes without leaders even realising it.
Together we will discuss where the messaging goes wrong, challenge assumptions about ethical communication and rethink how we can build transparency, authenticity and accountability into leadership narratives.
This session is not an academic lecture...it is a collaborative exploration! So, be ready to share, challenge and reshape leadership communication for a more ethical, engaged and inclusive workplace.
Three takeaways from the session:
- Recognise Power Dynamics: Understand how leadership messages can unintentionally marginalise employees and learn to craft communications that empower and include all team members
- Prioritise Ethical Integrity: Learn to align messaging with organisational values, ensuring transparency and building trust within the workforce
- Transform Misconceptions: Identify common pitfalls in leadership communication and adopt strategies that promote ethical considerations, fostering a more inclusive and engaged organisational culture
