Empowering Change: One Firm Action in Global Collaboration

How We United 11 Countries and Raised £526,000 for Charity

In 2023, Fieldfisher undertook One Firm Action, a biennial challenge designed to empower our people to address both local and global issues. Through this initiative, we successfully raised £526,000 for 15 charities across 11 countries, engaging 2000 participants in a remarkable journey of collaboration and community giving. This session will delve into the strategies and communication tactics that propelled this initiative to success, highlighting the crucial role of internal communications in fostering cross-border engagement. Attendees will gain insights into effective collaboration, the impact of internal communications tactics, and the power of community-driven efforts in galvanising organisational collaboration. Key takeaways will include the nuances of engaging a global workforce and the pitfalls to avoid when organising a large-scale campaign with a fixed target and zero budget. Join me as I share our learnings and strategies to mitigate team burnout as we prepare for the 2025 One Firm Action 2.0 challenge.

Three takeaways from the session:

  1. How comms can make an impact on improving workplace engagement and collaboration
  2. What not to do when running a new large campaign for the first time in the history of the organisation
  3. Even if a campaign is a success it doesn't mean the comms strategies could not be improved - what did we learn from it.
